Our Chair

Lord Dr Michael Hastings CBE

Lord Dr Michael Hastings CBE is a Crossbench member of the House of Lords, Chair of SOAS University, London and was recently Chair of London Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Black Business Association.

He is Professor of Leadership at the Stephen R Covey Leadership Centre, Huntsman Business School, USA and received a CBE in 2003 for services to crime reduction and community safety. He was conferred a Life Peerage in the House of Lords in 2005, making him Lord Michael Hastings of Scarisbrick CBE.

Lord Hastings was a Trustee of the Vodafone Group Foundation for 11 years and a member of its Global Development Committee and is now a Governor of the Safaricom / Vodafone MPESA Academy in Nairobi. He remains a Vice President of UNICEF UK and President of UKCF – the UK’s Charitable Foundations network. In 2014, Lord Hastings was conferred with a Doctorate in Civil Law from the University of Kent, Canterbury in recognition for his work in international development and corporate responsibility. He is the co-founder of a unique voluntary prisoner engagement and reverse mentoring programme called My Brother’s Keeper – a cause he holds as most dear and most important.

    Tara Sabre Collier is an an impact investor, advisor and expert with UK and international expertise, currently the Practice Lead for Climate and Private Sector Engagement at Chemonics UK.

  • Sarah Santhosham

    Sarah Santhosham is Head of Engagement & Sustainable Investment for The Scott Trust Endowment, and formerly a civil servant at the Treasury and Prime Minister’s Implementation Unit, and community organiser. 

  • Joel Buchanan Davis

    Joel Buchanan Davis is a social entrepreneur in the UK, CEO of the Quintessentially Foundation, and Trustee of The Rank Foundation.

    Stephen Bediako OBE has been a leading social entrepreneur for over 15 years, growing and advising organisations and initiatives such as The Social Innovation Partnership, Project Oracle, UnLtd, The Barbican, Guys and St Thomas Charity, Nesta, the Greater London Authority, the Cabinet Office, and Turning Basin Labs in the USA and more.

    The Social Investment Consultancy (TSIC) Managing Director, Bonnie Chiu, is a leading advisor on impact investing and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

    Established in 2008, TSIC has more than a decade of experience advising over 200 organisations on social impact evaluation and strategic development.

    She is also an award-winning social entrepreneur recognised as a Forbes 30 Under 30 in Europe and Young Achiever at the Asian Women of Achievement Awards.

    Kunle Olulode MBE

    Led by Kunle Oluolde MBE, V4CE has demonstrated commitment to catalysing the Black and Minority voice in their role as a national network for Black and Minoritised-led organisations.

    With over 500 members, V4CE can provide a strong pipeline for Pathway to fund. Member organisations of V4CE have been searching for the support they need to further their enterprise ambitions.

  • Bonnie Chiu

    Bonnie Chiu, Managing Director of The Social Investment Consultancy (TSIC) is a leading advisor on impact investing and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

    Established in 2008, TSIC has more than a decade of experience advising over 200 organisations on social impact evaluation and strategic development.   

    She is also an award-winning social entrepreneur recognised as a Forbes 30 Under 30 in Europe and Young Achiever at the Asian Women of Achievement Awards. 

  • Sarah Santosham

    Sarah Santosham is Head of Engagement and Sustainable Investment for The Scott Trust Endowment, which financially supports the Guardian Media Group.

    Prior to this, Sarah was a civil servant in HM Treasury and other government departments. 

  • Asher Craig

    Asher Craig is the Chief Executive of Pathway Fund and was recently the Deputy Mayor of Bristol.  

    Asher founded the Mosaic Advocacy Centre – a social enterprise - serves as a trustee for the Terrence Higgins Trust, and she is on the board of MAZI – a young people’s project.

    Asher also chairs the Bristol Legacy Foundation, which addresses the systemic marginalisation of African Heritage Communities. 

  • Heather Abbey

    Heather Abbey is a strategic leader, former civil servant and Founder of Ase Creative Solutions, a consultancy supporting changemakers, funders and public institutions to align values with delivery. Over the past decade, she has worked across government, philanthropy and academia, leading grant programmes, building leadership capabilities and strengthening governance in high-pressure environments. 

  • Mudasar Ali

    Mudaser is passionate about applying his interests and skills to develop communities' capabilities. He believes resources should be distributed equitably and channelled to add real value to economies and society, so that all communities can benefit from collective wealth-building and prosperity. 

    He has led and implemented the delivery of lived-experience-led support to charities, social enterprises and public sector bodies, at Locality, Muslim Charities Forum (MCF) and Crack Willow Enterprises. Mudaser has also led MCF’s internal infrastructure transformation to support charities and social enterprises and served as an active independent member of Key Fund’s Social Investment Panel

  • Sam Mahtani

    Sam Mahtani is a seasoned investment professional with more than three decades of experience in global finance, including over twelve years focused on sustainable and impact investing. During his corporate career Sam served as Senior Portfolio Manager for Columbia Threadneedle Investments’ Responsible Emerging Markets strategy, and he managed USD2bn in investment assets. 

    As the founder of Alpha ESG Consulting, he has partnered with charities, foundations, and asset managers to help them with their approach to sustainable investment. Sam’s commitment to racial equity is reflected not only in his advisory work but also in his public advocacy, where he has consistently championed the importance of diverse fund management teams and inclusive capital deployment.
