Pathway Fund welcomes the Government’s recent announcement that it will be launching the new ‘Better Futures Fund’, this marking a huge step in its partnership with the impact economy.
The initiative will take the form of a £500 million Social Outcomes Partnerships Fund, which could support up to 200,000 vulnerable children, young people, and their families.
The Fund will increase the number of early interventions available to materially improve the lives of young people, across the country, it expanding the opportunities available to them, as part of this.
This funding will be used to put in place Social Outcomes Partnerships - such partnerships being models which see Government payments being tied to the delivering of, tangible, measurable, positive, social outcomes.
Investors provide initial capital, with this investment helping the organisations so delivering, key, life-changing, services to implement effective interventions and achieve socially beneficial outcomes. Those outcomes might be greater levels of family stability, improved school attainment, and the discernible prevention of homelessness in given localities.
The announcement shows the extent of the Government's commitment to working with the impact economy, to deliver on its policy aims.
We look forward to seeing how this important announcement develops, over the coming weeks and months, with it, of course, playing an important role in its overarching, Plan for Change.
