Who Should Apply
This programme is for intermediary organisations, not frontline charities or social enterprises.
This programme is for you if you are an intermediary organisation that deploys funding into asset-locked charities and social enterprises in England, and your organisation is led by Black or Ethnically Minoritised communities (or you are willing to partner with one that is).
What is an intermediary?
Pathway Fund is a wholesaler. This means we do not fund frontline charities or social enterprises directly. Instead, we fund intermediary organisations (IMOs) who then deploy capital into communities. If you are a frontline charity or social enterprise looking for direct funding, this programme is not the right fit, but we hope it will create opportunities for you through the intermediaries we fund.
You should consider applying if:
✓ You are a social investment intermediary, grant-maker, or fund manager
✓ At least 51% of your Board and Senior Leadership are from Black or Ethnically Minoritised communities, or you are partnering with an organisation that meets this criterion
✓ You deploy (or plan to deploy) funding into asset-locked charities and social enterprises
✓ Your target enterprises are based in England
✓ You have (or are building) a pipeline of enterprises ready for grant or blended finance
This programme is NOT for you if you are a frontline charity or social enterprise seeking direct grant funding, or if your organisation operates outside England, or if you do not deploy into asset-locked entities.
Not BEM-led? You can still participate.
If your organisation is not BEM-led but you work alongside BEM communities, we encourage you to explore partnership. Strong partnerships that centre lived experience and share power equitably are welcomed.
